Breaking News

A vast portion of the undeveloped section of the Canyons will be preserved as open space. The ECOSA Institute, a local non-profit, architectural educational organization specializing in ecologically sustainable design has recently purchased 65 acres of land in the Canyons. The purchase includes 45 acres of vacant, undeveloped land, 14 platted lots (Lots 62 through 75), an access easement for the accompanying roadway through these lots (Cave Creek Trail and the south section of Twisted Trail), and the open space that surrounds these lots. This area, excluding the road, has been de-annexed from the Canyons HOA.

ECOSA intends to build classrooms and living spaces in the developed, far south section of the Canyons at Granite Park. Most of their buildings will be located in the cul-de-sac area currently comprising Lots 70 through 74. The remaining undeveloped land and a majority of the developed lots within the sale will be maintained as open space. Per purchase contract, ECOSA will provide a trail right-of-way across open space from the Canyons HOA property to the City Trail System, contingent on County re-zoning approval and City of Prescott cooperation. All Canyons HOA members will have access to this trail and all of the Willow Creek riparian area will continue to be maintained as open space.

The existing south gate at Highway 89 has been transferred to the Buyer and a new automatically operable gate with a key pad will be installed on Twisted Trail in front of what is currently Lot 61. The gate will include stone monuments with the same Canyons signage of the existing gate. Also, a new north automatically operable gate with stone monuments and a key pad will be installed east of the Willow Creek Bridge. ECOSA will be responsible for 95% of the maintenance costs of the portion of Twisted Trail that begins at the south entrance of Highway 89 to the new gate at Lot 61 and for all of Cave Creek Trail. All HOA members will continue to have full vehicular and pedestrian access to the Canyons at Granite Park from both existing south and north entrances.

ECOSA will be building low impact architecturally appealing and site compatible buildings. The buildings will be environmentally sustainable and blend into the natural surroundings.

Future building density will be drastically reduced from 105 homes to a 50+ home range (this includes platting a small section in the remaining future phase adjacent to Twisted Trail).

Most of the currently undeveloped land that was designated as future home sites will be preserved as open space including most of the area around Tom Mix Lake. This will also reduce future resident, sales, and construction traffic and some of the most scenic sections of the Dells will be preserved.

Currently there are only 13 unsold lots remaining including 6 totally new home sites. Several of these are premium sites with outstanding views and maximum privacy. Time is running out to buy in this unique and exclusive neighborhood.
